Using QuickLock email

Using email client

After you configured your email client to use the QuickLock email account, you can send/receive emails as usual. QuickLock does not change the way you send or receive emails.

Using QuickLock webmail

You may also access your QuickLock emails using a web browser. To use QuickLock webmail, use your favorite web browser and go to https://m.2626mail.com and login using your QuickLock.email address and password.

Sending email to another QuickLock user

If you set up QuickLock's Protection Method to "protects [QuickLock] users" (default), emails sent to another QuickLock user will be automatically locked using the recipient's own personal password.

If you set up QuickLock Protection Method to "do not protect by default", emails sent will not be locked and are sent as is.

Sending email to a non QuickLock user

Emails sent to a non QuickLock user will be delivered as is with a tag line and a link that allow the recipient to register as a QuickLock user easily.

Receiving emails

An email sent to a QuickLock email address will be locked by default unless the recipient's QuickLock Protection Method was set to "do not protect by default".

The protected contents (including attachments if any) are encrypted and delivered as a PDF attachment:

Using email Subject Commands

A Subject Command is a command string you can specify in the email subject to lock/unlock the email message.

All Subject Commands must be enclosed by "{{ SubjCmd }}" and can appear anywhere in the subject of the email, where "SubjCmd" in this illustration is an command which can be:

"L" - lock the email, with optional password parameter using the parameter delimiter "||"

          e.g.
                   {{ L || red+orange }}
                   This will "lock" the email using "red+orange" as the password.

                   {{ L }}
                   This will "lock" the email using the recipient's password (if the recipient is a QuickLock email user).

     "L" can be used:
  • to override the QuickLock Protection Method setting of "do not protect by default". This is particularly useful for cases that only require occasional email protection.
  • to force QuickLock to lock the email regardless of whether the recipient is a QuickLock user or not.
  • to specify an ad-hoc password to override the usual password used by the recipient.

"UL" - do not lock the email

           e.g.
                   {{ UL }}
                   This will send the email without locking.

     "UL" can be used:
  • to override the QuickLock Protection Method setting of "protect [QuickLock] users".
  • to force QuickLock NOT to lock the email regardless of whether the recipient is a QuickLock user or not.
